for roles in TLO's '08 season.

Trinity Lyric Opera's Artistic Staff was thrilled to have listened to over sixty singers spanning a three-day period in preparation for casting its three productions planned for later this year. "We were thrilled that singers from throughout our area and beyond signed up for a slot during the three days alotted for our auditions. We even had several wonderful artists from Southern California and out-of-state who wished to be heard, and who would not dissuaded from making a trip all the way to the Bay Area to be heard," said Alan Thayer, Founder and Executive Director. Many wonderful comments were received at the conclusion of this year's round thanking the staff for its kindness and graciousness, and expressing their sincere interest in having a part in future productions.

Casting for "The Crucible" should be announced within three weeks, while final decisions for the Company's year-end productions will be made within the next several months. Check our website frequently for the final results on cast assignments. "With the many wonderful singers we heard these past ten days, we will have some truly superb artists for 'The Crucible,' an opera that will move deeply all our audiences. I can't wait to begin rehearsals," said Thayer.

As previously noted, the Season opens July 18 with Robert Ward's "The Crucible" and continues July 20th, 25th and the 27th. TLO is also planning on its first holiday performances scheduled for December 19th and 21st, of David Conte's "The Gift of the Magi" and the Christmas favorite, "Amahl and the Night Visitors" by Menotti.

Though general auditions for the 2008 season have concluded, John Kendall Bailey, TLO's Music Director points out that "we are always eager to hear new talent and to keep track of those singers with whom we would like to work in the future." Accordingly, we invite all singers who could not participate in this year's auditions to send us a demo CD or DVD so that we may become acquainted with them prior to our next round. Requests for notification by e-mail are also gratefully received. Recordings as well as resumes, bios and head shots may be sent to the Company's main mailing address:
